I’m Christine Egan, a person-centred counsellor, clinical supervisor, and BACP-registered therapist based in Horsforth, Leeds.
I work with adults and couples, offering a calm, supportive space where you can explore whatever you’re facing, at your own pace. People come to counselling for many different reasons, and my role is not to give advice or tell you what to do, but to help you feel heard, understood, and supported as you make sense of your experience and find a way forward that feels right for you.
At the heart of my work is a belief that meaningful change happens when people feel accepted without judgement. Person-centred counselling focuses on creating the right conditions for this to happen, allowing you to explore your thoughts and feelings openly, build self-understanding, and move forward in a way that reflects who you are.

A neutral, supportive space to talk openly together, make sense of patterns between you, and work towards healthier ways of relating.

Reflective, grounded clinical supervision for trainee and qualified counsellors, with a focus on ethical, person-centred practice.

Space to explore what you’re feeling, understand what’s behind it, and find steadier ways of coping day to day.
People come to counselling for many different reasons. You might be experiencing one specific difficulty, or a mix of things that feel hard to untangle. Some of the areas I commonly work with include:
Anxiety, depression, panic attacks, stress, low self-confidence, feeling sad, loneliness, self-esteem, seasonal affective disorder.
Couples and relationship difficulties, separation and divorce, affairs and betrayals, jealousy, open relationships, sex and intimacy issues.
Bereavement, miscarriage, abortion, redundancy, pregnancy and birth, caring responsibilities, health-related issues.
Emotional, physical, sexual and domestic abuse, childhood bullying, trauma, post-traumatic stress
Men’s issues, women’s issues, work-related issues, discrimination, anger management, addiction and compulsive behaviours.
My counselling practice is based on Regent Road in Horsforth. I also see clients at the Tower Clinic in Cookridge, when preferred or by referral.
Sessions are available in person, online, or by phone, depending on what feels most comfortable and accessible for you.
Before training as a counsellor, I worked in healthcare as a cardiac nurse and later as a health visitor, supporting families with children under the age of five. This background continues to inform my work today, particularly my understanding of care, compassion, and the importance of feeling safe and respected when talking about personal or difficult experiences.
As a counsellor, I am committed to ongoing professional development to ensure my work remains ethical, reflective, and effective. In line with the BACP ethical framework, I regularly update and extend my skills through continuing professional development. My formal qualifications are listed below.
Approved counsellor and supervisor for students at Leeds Beckett University.
